About this property

Welcome to The Oliver Cromwell Hotel

Located on High Street in March, The Oliver Cromwell Hotel offers a straightforward and practical accommodation option with a 4.1 rating from 485 reviews. The property features essential facilities such as a restaurant, fitness center, an indoor pool, and a sauna, catering to guests looking for a convenient stay with basic leisure amenities. Free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking add to the practical appeal, making it suitable for both business and leisure travelers.

Guest feedback highlights spacious and comfortable rooms, with some mentioning balconies and good-sized seating areas, though a few note that certain decor and bathroom elements could use updating. The quality of customer service receives consistent praise, with staff frequently commended for being helpful and professional. Occasional issues reported—such as temporary kitchen closures—suggest some operational variability, but overall guest satisfaction remains positive for a mid-range hotel.

Its central location allows easy access to local attractions like WWT Welney, Flag Fen Archaeology Park, and the Skylark Maize Maze & Funyard, appealing to visitors interested in sightseeing and recreation. The hotel’s position also puts it within reasonable driving distance of major airports such as London Stansted, Heathrow, and Gatwick, albeit with journey times over an hour, making it a practical base for regional exploration rather than quick airport access.

Families and guests seeking accessibility will find suitable amenities here, including kid-friendly services and barrier-free access. While the property is not pet-friendly and does not offer an airport shuttle, the combination of a gym, indoor pool, and onsite dining provides enough to support a comfortable stay in a town-center setting without the trappings of a large chain hotel.

We come for a weekend away to this hotel, we had a small issue and we brought the concern up to Amy the reception manager, who handled it in a very professional way, and she couldn't of been any more helpful, she put us into another room which was absolutely amazing. And we even booked an extra couple of nights as we was that happy .and I would advise anyone to stay here, we really enjoyed our stay and I'd just like to thank Amy the reception manager she handled everything in a very professional way and we couldn't thank her more

This is a really nice hotel. I've stayed here on numerous occasions. The staff are great and make your stay even better. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and you'll get a decent night's sleep here.

Perfect, for £85 for a lovely spacious comfy double room with breakfast I was over the moon. Breakfast was fab, Supper was great and for two courses £16 and I couldn’t eat it all and very delicious. Customer Service was lovely. Some of the decor is a little outdated but that doesn’t put but how pleased i am with the hotel. Much better than a chain hotel like premiere inn.

Large, spacious rooms (we booked a twin). We had a bath and everything as expected in the room, e.g vanity, hairdryer, tea and coffee etc. However what stood out was a particular staff member, who despite only working there during events, he went out of his way to ensure that I was able to eat during the free breakfast the following morning, due to my allergies. Which I'm very grateful for!

Over the last six years we have stayed one night in January on five occasions. Since it changed hands the choice at breakfast isn't as good but having said that it is still good. We stayed in room 16 and our bed was very comfortable and we both had a good night's sleep. We certainly have no complaints about our room. When I tried to book a table for dinner I was told the kitchen was closed due to a problem but this was repaired in time for breakfast!!!! From reading other reviews this seems to be a recurring problem. Based on the number of cars in the car park overnight there were very few guests staying at the hotel on Friday 31 January. We would certainly stay at the Oliver Cromwell Hotel again without hesitation.

the room was a good size and included a balcony which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The main reason for my 5/5 review is down to the great customer service of the staff, when I stayed here a week or 2 ago I stupidly managed to leave some clothes in my room. Luckily for me, the staff were very helpful and I was able to arrange my items to be sent by post. I am very thankful for this and I think this merits them an excellent review.

We loved the room. Great size and a balcony to stand outside for some fresh air. We had a small sofa and 3 other chairs in the room, which was totally awesome . Slept really well on the bed, had a good night's sleep. The bathroom could do with some updating. But it was okay for 1 night. We would definitely come back.

Quiet hotel, clean and comfortable (had to be moved rooms into the main building due to heating not working) The food is good value for money £15 for a main and either starter or desert! The mushrooms for starter are lovely! Gym that guests can use, fairly spacious car park which is suitable for a van. Walking distance to the shops.
